87, beloved husband of Doris, died at home in Westmont, NJ on October 19, 2009 after an unexpected heart attack. He was born on May 4, 1922 in Mineola, NY. After high school, he embarked on a career in banking on Wall Street, until the outbreak of World War II, when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly after Pearl Harbor. He served as a signalman on the USS Sante Fe, a light cruiser nicknamed the Lucky Lady, which saw significant hostile enemy action in the North and South Pacific. Following active duty, Art returned to the States where he was selected for officer training through the Navy V-12 program which began at Hobart College and concluded at Cornell University, from which he graduated in 1947. He attained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve.

He resumed his business career with RCA in Camden, where he assembled contracts for TV and radio broadcast equipment throughout the western hemisphere until his retirement in 1983. Then followed a most enjoyable second career with Holman Leasing and ARI Automotive Rental, Inc. for over 25 years until his death.

Art was a man of deep faith, devoted to his Lord and his church. He was an avid bridge player, golfer and home repair specialist. He loved fishing on the Maine coast with his son, Gary, daughter-in-law, Carol and granddaughters, Madeline and Kimberly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, October 23rd, 7 to 9 PM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Funeral service will be held Saturday 10 AM at Martin Luther Chapel, Rt. 130 & Terrace Ave., Pennsauken, NJ. Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.
