Born on April 27, 1931 in Newcastle, England, Barbara was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Eleanor Cooper (nee Goodwin). Beloved wife of the late William Alexander Slater and sister of the late Thomas Cooper and Doris Straughan. She is survived by her three children: Chrissie Chevis (Eddie), Annie Slater (Jimmy) and Jim Slater (Cindy); four grandchildren: Kelly, Ben, Duncan and Liam and great grandchildren: Sian, Lauren, Joely, Cameron, George and the late Hallie.
A devoted wife and mother, Barbara dedicated her whole life to her family. Barbara was a former secretary who left the outside workforce to raise a family and create a warm and loving home. She was an avid reader, knitter and loved cats. She moved to the United States in 1979 when her husband was transferred by his company, Merck Sharp & Dohme. William and Barbara both became U.S. citizens on July 7, 1993.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, February 26, 10 to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment private.
