(Nee-Buff) Age 46, passed away on January 15, 2010 at her home in Chestnut Hill, PA after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bethann was born to George J. III and Clara Buff on March 29, 1963. She was a 1981 graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School and attended Green Mountain College in Vermont, receiving her BA degree in 1985.

Bethann has lived in Chestnut Hill since her marriage to William McLaughlin in 1993. They enjoyed 16 years of marriage and welcomed twins, Schuyler and William into their lives on March 29, 2003, sharing a birthday with their mother.

As a junior in high school, she founded "BG's on the Beach" in Stone Harbor, NJ, a boutique jewelry store. Upon graduation, she continued her love of retail and worked her way up to become Assistant Manager at Saks Fifth Avenue in their Center City, Philadelphia store. Together with her mother, the late Clara Buff, she co-founded other retail ventures including "Cotton Comfort", "Linens for Less" and "Initial Gallery", all of which had locations in Haddonfield and Stone Harbor, NJ.

Bethann's life would seem too short to many, but those who knew her and were touched by her understood that her love of life and impact on others far exceeds the quantity of time in which she lived. Her sense of humor, compassion and generosity brought much joy to family and friends. True to her attributes of compassion and generosity, she was active in the American Cancer Society and a supporter of the National Institute of Health. She was a loving and devoted mother and the last six years since the birth of her children were years of great pride, joy and happiness.

Cancer had unfortunately made several appearances in her life. In dealing with this challenge, Bethann's positive attitude, strength and courage was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Her love for life and family extended her time beyond what all who knew her thought possible.

Bethann is survived by her husband, William and their two children, Schuyler and William, her father, George J. Buff, III, brother, George IV (Izabela) and nephew, George V.

Friends and family are invited to visit with her family on Friday 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd., Haddonfield, NJ, where a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
