Bonnie Ann Deckman Anania, 66, of Mooresville, NC passed away unexpectedly at home on March 29, 2016. Bonnie was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 13, 1950 to Beatrice and William J. Deckman, Jr. She graduated from Audubon High School in 1968 and then attended Upsala College in East Orange, NJ. She was an award-winning athlete and played field hockey in both high school and college. Bonnie created many beautiful afghans and caps for both family as gifts and for donations to charities. She was also an avid gardener, creating beautiful gardens for her home. Bonnie was a boating and fishing enthusiast. She retired from the insurance industry and managing her own business, Aquatic Adventures. Bonnie lived in Audubon, NJ, Hilton Head, SC, Stuart, FL and Mooresville, NC.
Bonnie is survived by her sister, Barbara (Terence) McInerney of Fayetteville, NY; her niece, Erin (Vince) Pinto of Swedesboro, NJ; her nephew and godson, Ryan (Ashley) McInerney of Singapore; her nephew, Brandon McInerney of Syracuse, NY; her nephew, Terence James "TJ" McInerney of Syracuse, NY; great nieces, Gabriella and Adrianna Pinto and great nephew, Nicholas Pinto. She is also survived by her aunt, Lucy Deckman of Jacksonville, FL and many loving cousins, including special cousin, William (Isabel) Passmore of Summerfield, FL; their son, Lucas and spouse; special cousin, Jacquelyn (Robert) Writz of Denver, CO and their children, Robert Christian "Chris" Writz and Robert Henry "Rob" Writz and spouse.
Bonnie was predeceased by her fiancé, H. Grayson Smith, Jr. in 1997; her loving parents, Beatrice Mary Foster Deckman and William James Deckman, Jr., both in 1987 and her loving grandparents, Etta (Crawford) and William J. Deckman, Sr. and Anna (Nichols) and Earle Francis Foster. She was also predeceased by her faithful dog, Penny, after 18 years of companionship.
Private family services will be held this summer under the direction of Foster-Warne Funeral Home. "Aunt Bonnie" will always be cherished and remembered by all who loved her as a Philadelphia sports fan, a NASCAR fan and a football expert!
