Carmen John Fanelli Jr., age 75, lifelong resident of Audubon, NJ, passed away on December 17, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cherished friend to many. Carmen is predeceased by his father Carmen Fanelli Sr. He is survived by his mother Josephine Fanelli (nee Robino), his loving wife of 40 years, Christine (nee McHenry Perozzi), and his beloved children — John (Christina) Perozzi, Carmen (Amiee) Fanelli III, and Alise (Ryan) Heal — his cherished grandchildren: John, Tyler, Julianna “Ruby,” RJ, Ava, Kaydence, and Paisley, as well as his grand dog Comet, who all lovingly knew him as “Ex-Pop”. He is also survived by his siblings Vicki (Dennis) Sandefer, Ron (Kathy) Fanelli, Bernadette (Gordon) Araujo, Trish (Jeff) Lomanno, along with countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Carmen took great pride in his work with the New Jersey American Water Company, where he dedicated 26 years of service. He was best known for his office antics, during which he created lifelong friendships with his colleagues, many of whom became an extension of his family throughout his life. Carmen was known as MacGyver for always helping family and friends with renovations and repairs. He thought life was best enjoyed barefoot, outdoors, with good company and a coffee in hand. He enjoyed fishing and spending time attending his grandchildren’s activities, where everyone in town knew him as Ex-Pop. Carmen looked forward to his yearly family vacations at the Jersey Shore with his grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at Foster-Warne Funeral Home, 250 S. White Horse Pike in Audubon, New Jersey from 10AM to 12PM on Monday, December 29, 2025. A Celebration of Life will follow at Mepri Hall, 120 W. Kings Highway Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey at 1 PM where family and friends can come together to honor Carmen’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Hospital https://foundation.cooperhealth.org/online-giving.
