On June 5, 2008, of Collingswood, NJ. Age 84 years.
Beloved husband of Jeanne Duus (nee-Gleeson). Dear father of Nancy (Arthur) Watson of Collingswood, NJ, Charles "Randy" Duus of Cape Coral, FL, Scott (Denise) Duus of Maple Shade, NJ, Steven (Barbara) Duus of Greeley, CO and the late Keith Duus. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Duus was a 1941 graduate of Collingswood High School. He was originally employed as a salesman for Camden Forge, and then hired by Cann & Saul Steel Co. of Royersford, PA after its closing. He became sales manager and was promoted to vice president and CEO in 1981 before retiring in 1986. His company's forgings were in many of the world's submarines, aircraft and warships built over four decades (1950s-1980s).
Mr. Duus enjoyed working in his basement workshop and was a well-known fisherman in Cape May. Charles played tenor saxophone in his own dance band, Charlie Morton's in the 1950s. He was also a member of Audubon-Parkside Lodge #218 F & AM and the Excelsior Consistory, W. Collingswood, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday Evening 6 to 7 PM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, Haddon & Lees Aves., Collingswood, NJ. Masonic Service Monday 7 PM followed by his Funeral Service. Interment private.
