Charlie, a longtime resident of Collingswood, NJ passed away on November 16, 2022 at the age of 93.

Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Joan E. Ferrara (nee Wyatt).  Dear father of Verna "Pud" Doughty (Don Ruth), Rose (Matt) Kondrla and Charles Ferrara (Michelle).  Loving grandfather of Matthew (Dana), Kyle (KC), Tyler (Natalie), Nickalaus (Marissa) and Gianna (Jeff) and great grandfather of Jaxson, Liv, Kaia, Kruz and Zachary Brian.  He also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1947-1948 and then the U.S. Army Reserves for over 40 years until 1989.  He was a longtime member and current commander of Army Navy Garrison #51 and a member of AmVets Post #101 and Cherry Hill American Legion Post #372.  Charlie was a union pressman in the printing industry for over 20 years before joining the Camden County Sheriff's Office and retired as a foreman with the Camden City Water Department after 16 years.  He was the director of the Cramer Hill Drum & Bugle Corps from 1969-1979, served on the Camden City Board of Education and started the town watch program in Camden.  Charlie was a longtime, devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Collingswood.  He also served as the president of Collingswood Seniors and was a former member of the AARP.  Charlie especially enjoyed traveling together with Joan and visiting many different places.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, November 22, 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Turnersville, NJ.
