On June 5, 2007, of Menno Village, Chambersburg, PA. Age 90 years.

Beloved husband of the late Harriet (Nee-VanDeventer) McCaslin. Dear father of Claudia "Dia" Schumacher of Chambersburg, PA and David C. McCaslin of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Steven W. Schumacher, Christina S. Tonielli, Kristin Filoon and Kevin McCaslin and four great grandchildren: Zachary Huber, Rebekah, Jack and Isaiah Schumacher.

Born on Jan. 13, 1917, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Mabel J. (Nee-Hathaway) McCaslin, Sr. Mr. McCaslin graduated from Haverford High School in 1935 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from Drexel Institute of Technology, now Drexel Univ. in 1939. Later he received his Master's degree in Education from Temple Univ. He taught at Pottstown High School in the business department before and after his service with the U.S. Army during WWII.

In 1946, he continued his teaching career at Collingswood High School, where he served as business educator, Business Dept. chairman, business manager of the Board of Education and Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent for business and finance. Upon his retirement in 1970, Mr. McCaslin was named manager of Planning and Administration for the Singer Learning Centers for Early Childhood Education. He also worked as an educational consultant for Research for Better Schools in Philadelphia.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Graveside Service Monday 1:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Garden, Haddon & Fern Aves., Collingswood, NJ 08108. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at the above address.
