Dan passed away suddenly on August 4, 2024. A longtime resident of Collingswood, NJ, he was 72 years old.
Beloved husband of 41 years to Patricia (nee Dick). Loving father of Kate and Stu Becker, Julianne Walsh and Patrick and Audrey Walsh. Cherished Poppy to Scout, Grant and Sage. Dear brother of Thomas and Sue Walsh and James and Alicia Walsh. Devoted Dog Dad to Lucy, Bella, Rainbow and Strider. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Dan grew up in East Patchogue, Long Island with his mother, Mary, and brothers, Thomas and James. He graduated from Seton Hall High School in 1970. Dan was the owner and operator of Island Cable Company for 45 years. Dan spent many 4th of Julys shooting fireworks with the Grucci Family Fireworks of Bellport, Long Island. He even had the opportunity to shoot the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid. Dan met Patti in Somers Point, NJ and they got married in 1983. They raised their family in Collingswood where he was actively involved in all his children's athletic endeavors - either as a coach or counting every stat from the sidelines. He enjoyed playing softball for Daly's Bar. Dan also enjoyed boating, bocce ball on the beach, and vacationing in Sea Isle City and Topsail Island. More recently he and Patti enjoyed road trips and gallivanting in Louisa Van Camp.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dan's visitation Thursday evening 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ and Friday 9:30 to 11:00 AM at ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER PARISH, ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH, 37 W. Haddon Ave., Oaklyn, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will follow Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Small Steps in Speech or The Penn Nursing Annual Fund.
