Donald Thomas Reiter, Sr. (Don), devoted husband, father, grandfather, and United States Coast Guard veteran, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 85 surrounded by family.

Born January 9, 1941, in Darby, Pennsylvania, Don moved to Audubon, New Jersey during his school years-- a community he proudly called home for the rest of his life. Don attended Audubon High School graduating in 1958. In high school, Don was a member of the Aces and developed a lifelong appreciation for fast cars.

Following graduation, Don enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served honorably as a Radioman Second Class, pulled down an Expert Medal on the National Match “A” Course and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. The values of duty, integrity, and service that defined his military career guided him throughout his life. He was also a skilled woodworker and loyal fan of the Phillies and Eagles.

Above all, Don was deeply devoted to his family. He shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife Lois (nee Eastep). Together, they built a life grounded in love, resilience, and steadfast support.

Don was a proud father to four sons: Donald Thomas Jr. (Elsie Gomez), Adam Kenneth (Kara Downs), Derek Justin (Kelly Laphan), and Sean Michael (Meaghan Petetti Londergan). He led by example, teaching not only through words, but through his steady presence and quiet wisdom. Whether offering guidance, or simply being there when needed, he was the foundation of his family. His family carries forward his unfailing sense of humor and unforgettable stories. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Don is survived by his wife, children, and cherished grandchildren (Landon and Emmett), many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth (nee Malin), and brother, Ken.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 14th with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. at the Foster-Warne Funeral Home, 250 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, New Jersey.  Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s memory may be made to the Audubon United Methodist Church, 314 West Graisbury Avenue, Audubon, New Jersey 08106.
