Dorothy C. Varnum passed away on October 15, 2016 at her home in Collingswood, NJ. Age 99 years.

Beloved wife of the late Walter Varnum. Loving mother of Dr. Robert C. (Mary Jane) Varnum of Colorado Springs, CO and the late Joyce V. (Harry III) Green. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Joanne (Michael) Peterson, Wendy (John) Mueller, David (Katherine) Varnum, Rebecca (David) Bucolo, Harry Green IV and Barnaby (Jennifer) Green and 12 great grandchildren.

Dorothy was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kansas. She also taught English and Journalism in Kansas for three years. She was a member of the P.E.O, Chapter W, where she joined in 1965. Dorothy was a also a homemaker with many interests, including sewing, playing bridge and being an avid University of Kansas basketball and Philadelphia Phillies fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, November 12, 2016 10 to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Memorial service will follow at 11 AM. Inurnment will take place at a future date in Caldwell Cemetery, Caldwell, KS.
