Edna H. Mehmet (née Wicker), age 85, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023. Born on October 15, 1937, in Camden, New Jersey, to Edward Wicker and Agnes Beswick, Edna was a lifelong resident of Collingswood, where she created countless cherished memories.

She was the dedicated and loving wife of "Bob" Robert E. Mehmet Sr., sharing 68 blissful years of marriage. Their profound love and companionship inspired all who were fortunate enough to witness it.

Edna was a devoted mother to Robert E. Mehmet Jr. (wife, Bernadette), and to her daughter, Joyce Johnson, née Mehmet (husband, Doug). She was a proud grandmother of seven: Jeremy Johnson (wife, Cara), Robert Mehmet III (wife, Dominique), Lisa Wilkens, née Mehmet (husband, Thomas), Keith Johnson, Daniel Mehmet (wife, Jill), Brian Mehmet (wife, Gina), and Philip Mehmet. Her love extended to her 15 great-grandchildren: Connor, Collin, Robert IV, Kelsey, Camryn, Isaac, Hannah, Gabriel, Aidan, Tyler, Sofia, Owen, Chad, Noah, and Mikayla.

Edna is survived by her sister, Bonnie Hacker. She is predeceased by her sisters, Mary Gregory and Frances Mullen, and brother, Edward Beswick.

As a woman of faith, Edna was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Collingswood. Her fervor and dedication to serving the Lord shone brightly through her actions and kindness.

With a zest for life, Edna relished the simple pleasures. She enjoyed walks in the park, exploring new places through travel, and cherished the quality time spent with her family. The large family gatherings during the holidays were among her most treasured moments.

Join us to celebrate Edna's life on Friday, October 6th, at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 am, followed by her funeral service at 11:30 am to honor and remember Edna.  Entombment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
