Elizabeth "Bette" Jane Whitehill (nee Henderson) , age 92, formerly of Blackwood and a resident of Williamstown, passed peacefully on April 17, 2021. Bette was born in Camden and graduated from Collingswood High School in 1946. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter M. Whitehill, her parents, Walter and Laura Henderson, and sister, Dorothy M. Young. She is survived by her niece, Susan M. Cudworth (Curtis) of Bel Air, Maryland and her devoted and dedicated caretaker and friend, Rosemary Davis of Sicklerville, New Jersey.
Bette was employed by the YMCA of Camden County, working in Camden City for 30 years and Voorhees for another 30 years. For over 25 years, she helped with the organization of the annual Camden County Mayors' Breakfast as well as the Annual YMCA Good Friday Breakfast. She was always thankful for the relationships she had with both the local and national chapters of the YMCA, the committee, and Township officials. Bette believed in charity and public service, and her donations to various organizations during her life showcase her truly generous spirit.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, May 1st, 3 PM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108. Inurnment will take place privately at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.
