On May 12, 2026, formerly of Collingswood, NJ.  He was 97 years old.

Beloved husband of the late Anne G. Emmerling (nee Gallimore).  Dear father of Thomas (the late Nancy), William (Shirley), Mark (Nancy), Joseph (former wife Donna), the late Jack Emmerling and the late Mary Engelbert (Kevin).  Loving grandfather of Elyse, Kristin, Kevin, Erika, Katie, Conor, Stephen, Joseph, Billy, Jack, Jenna, Luke, the late Jane Ann and the late Kelsey.  Great grandfather of Charlotte, Noa Esme, Jack, Henry and Wyatt.  Loving companion of the late, Jean Shaner.

Hank was raised in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia.  He was a 1953 graduate of the Naval Academy and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He retired as a captain after 27 years of service.  Hank was an engineer for J.J. Henry Naval Architects in Mt. Laurel, retiring as chief engineer.  He was a past member of the American Legion and past commander of the reserve officers association.  Hank was also a lifelong fisherman where he enjoyed to fish out of Barneget Light, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 10 AM to 11 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. John Church, 809 Park Ave., Collingswood, NJ.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM.  Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to United Service Organizations (USO) at www.uso.org.
