Obituary

Ida Haines Martin, born in Collingswood, NJ on Sunday, July 26, 1925 to Joseph F. Haines, Jr. and Lidie Wenner Haines passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the age of 96.  She was predeceased by her older sister, Doris Josephine Haines and her son, Joseph G. Martin.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George S. Martin, her son, Paul I. (Mary) Martin and grandchildren, Nicholas, Deanna and Thomas Jacob Martin.

Ida entered the business world as a secretary, working her way to being a certified professional legal secretary.  She was employed in the legal department of Philadelphia Electric Company, from which she retired.

She entered Rutgers University, Camden campus, attending evening classes to obtain her business degree in Management.  She was also President of the Chi Delta Sorority for two years.

Ida was a member of the Navy League, Camden; American Legion Auxiliary Post #17, Collingswood; Moose Lodge, Lindenwold; Red Hat Society, Collingswood; Church of the Transfiguration in Collingswood and Church of Saint Mary in Cherry Hill; Daughters of the American Revolution, Haddonfield and Ye Old Newton Chapter in Collingswood; Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, Haddonfield; Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century, Burlington County and Legion of St. Mary, St. Rose of Lima, Haddon Heights.

Committal prayers and interment at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, NJ will be private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, Collingswood and Audubon, NJ.
