Peacefully surrounded by his family on September 24, 2023, of Oceanview, NJ.  Age 72 years.

Beloved husband of Elaine Gallagher.  Son of the late John and Elsie McDonnell.  Stepfather of Eileen (Chris) Ferrari and Jackie (Charles) Antrilli.  Loving JimPop of Ariana, Christopher, Brielle, Charles and John.  Devoted brother of Joann (Tony) Ruggiero and the late John McDonnell (Helene).  Special Uncle of Denise (Brad), Tim, John (Stephanie) and Ryan and great uncle of Colleen, John, Tommy and Jack.

Jim was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of Father Judge High School.  He was a United States Army Vietnam era veteran and was a longtime employee of Roofer's Union Local #30, Philadelphia, PA.  His handyman skills and love for cooking and entertaining were appreciated by many.  Jim was proud of his Irish heritage and was known to never miss a party.  His contagious smile and sense of humor will be missed by all of those who loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, September 29, 10 AM to 11 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Holy Saviour Church, 50 Emerald Ave., Haddon Twp., NJ.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM.  Interment private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Ronald McDonald House Charities at www.rmhc.org .
