On January 13, 2024, age 82 of Collingswood, NJ.  A 1959 graduate of Collingswood HS. Predeceased by her long-time loving partner Harry Chappius. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Eleanor Knodel, loving sister of the late William (Ruth) Hoover, Ronald (Katharine) Hoover, and dear aunt of William (Suzanne) Hoover, Mark Hoover, Scott (Walter) Hoover, Ami (the late Craig) Meachum, and Lesli (Jeffrey) White, and 11 great nieces and nephews and proud aunt to the Chappius family.

Janice began her working years as the "Zookeeper" of the pet department at Woolworths on Haddon Ave. in Collingswood. Janice then became a Supervisor for Bell Telephone/Verizon until her retirement and an active member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers of America where she donated much time as "Noodles the Clown" for charitable events. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Collingswood and past president of Collingswood AARP Association. Janice was very proud of being a member of the 37th District of the Order of the Eastern Star of NJ Athene Chapter. She was a devoted and dedicated past Worthy Matron and Grand Representative of Puerto Rico and Alabama. Janice will always be remembered for being a sweet, kind and giving person. She was always thinking of others, delivering to others what she thought they might need. She also donated much time to the Animal Rescue of South Jersey, assisted in reuniting missing pets and was a lifelong cat lover.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ.  Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM.  Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.
