Joan (Scholes) McCarthy, 83, of Cherry Hill, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on October 1, 2025.

Joan was a devoted mother, wife, sister, and dear friend to many. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gene, and she is survived by their three daughters: Bond (John) Kraemer, Eaen (Dan) Marini and Cara Czeiner; six grandchildren, Drew, Trevor, Zackary, Alex, Arden, Hannah; her dear cousin, Kathy (Edward) Braun; and many more family and friends.

Joan was a talented artist, working as an art teacher for many years and then a special needs teacher until her retirement.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, October 10, 2025, 10 AM to 11 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Holy Saviour Church,  50 Emerald Ave., Westmont, NJ.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM.  Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to the Cathedral Kitchen in Camden https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/donatetoCK where Joan and Gene volunteered for many years.
