IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joanne
Brucker
March 11, 1954 – December 9, 2020
On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Joanne Brucker, loving wife of Melvin and mother of two children, passed away suddenly at the age of 66.
Joanne was born on March 11, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA to James and Emily (Stopyra) Loughery. She was raised in Stratford, NJ and married Grant Culp on June 8, 1974, raised a daughter, Joelle and son, Todd in Haddon Heights, NJ. Joanne and Melvin were married on October 1, 1999, lived in Woodbury Heights, NJ and later Mickleton, NJ.
Joanne's passion for crafting and gardening filled her house with beautiful plants and artwork that made visitors feel welcome and at home. Her happy smile and infectious laugh led to numerous friends everywhere she went. Joanne's strong maternal instinct made her a loving grandmother to Will, Paxton, Sarah, Claire and Scarlett. She was an active member of her church community and enjoyed volunteering for the Mothers of Preschoolers program where she could share her love for crafting with the wonder of young minds. She loved camping and spending time outdoors with Mel in the RV he purchased without her knowledge. It wasn't uncommon for them to go camping with Grant and Donna Culp, to spend time together with their grandchildren. Most of all, Joanne enjoyed helping others when they needed someone to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or a word of advice.
She is survived by her husband Melvin; children Joelle (Brian) Gordon and Todd (Victoria) Culp; step-children Dale (Shantell), Danielle (Antonio) Zuletta, and Daniel (Lori); grandchildren William, Paxton, Sarah, Claire and Scarlett; siblings Jane (William) Thorpe, James (Julie) Loughery, Kathy (John) Mitchell, and Karol (Brady) Lavender; and a host of loving in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and longtime friends. She is preceded by her parents James and Emily Loughery.
A service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Sewell, NJ at 11:00am on Wednesday December, 16, 2020. We are offering virtual attendance which can be accessed by this link: https://boxcast.tv/view/joanne-brucker-service-bbgzcu6h4eqkphmo6mr1 .
With great regret, in-person attendance at the service will be for immediate family only. In life, Joanne was able to share her love and caring with a great number of people. While we would enjoy the ability to congregate to celebrate her life, Joanne would not want us to do so at this time. We pray that such a celebration can occur in the near future so that we can heal together.
A memorial slideshow of our amazing mother has been posted here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NtPJcIO2PMvHNqfL78kDn9RqPVjFjlXA/view?usp=sharing
Please go through your photos or write down a special moment or passage she shared and send them to my mom's email address, Joannebrucker@comcast.net so they can be added to the memorial.
