Obituary

Suddenly on March 10, 2013, of Audubon, NJ. Age 88 years.

Beloved husband of the late Anna E. Franzini (nee Vogel). Dear father of John J. (Caren), Diana (Al) Doman, Carol (Robert) Whitekettle and Richard (Linda). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Michael, Ajay, Shannon, Julia, Ronnie, Robert, Jessica, Rachel, Diana, Anna, Sam and Sarah; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Rita (Frank) Trimarco and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, Sam and Al and a sister, Judy.

Mr. Franzini was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, who participated in the invasion of Normandy at Omaha Beach and the invasion of Sicily. He also served in North Africa and on Okinawa. Mr. Franzini had a longtime career with the Philadelphia Inquirer and Courier-Post. He was a member of VFW Post #713, Westmont, NJ and also a longtime Mummer and former member of Palmyra String Band.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday 9:30 to 11 AM from St. Joseph the Worker Parish at St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 901 Hopkins Rd., Haddon Twp., NJ. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Inurnment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
