Obituary

On July 18, 2021, of Haddon Heights, NJ.  Age 74 years.

Beloved husband to the love of his life of 49 years, Louise M. Geverd (nee Marquardt).  Deeply loved and respected by his children: Lauren (Jeff) Carey; grandchildren, Alexandria and Hannah; Katherine (Andrew Rutner); grandson, Ezra; Jacqui (Patrick) McHugh; grandchildren, Madison and Emma; Ruthy (Brian Martinelli); grandson, Rylan; Caroline (Kyle Marett) and his 6th daughter, Maggie the dog.  He is also lovingly survived by his sister, Karen O'Shea (Timothy) and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Geverd Lewis.

A lifelong resident of Haddon Heights, NJ, John was perpetually surrounded by family, friends, and many pet s. He enjoyed spending time with his father, the late John Geverd Jr., during their time together in the Eagle Scouts.
John graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Geology and worked for many years as a land surveyor and later a salesman of trucks, construction equipment, and yachts.
John found great joy in camping; fishing with his Uncle Mickey, fondly "Fatboy 1," cousin Brian Geverd, father, and late nephew Staff Sergeant Joe. M. Weiglein; photography, cartography, golfing, kayaking, horseback riding, and spending time with his family at the beach.
He will be most remembered by his loved ones for his kindness, empathy, dad joke humor, friendship, and being an exceptionally wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday 10 AM to 12 PM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 250 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ.  Memorial Service will follow at 12 PM.  Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to SSG Joseph M. Weiglein Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 82, Audubon, NJ 08106.
