Kathleen lived her entire life in the same house in Collingswood. She graduated from St. John elementary school in 1940 and Camden Catholic High School in 1944. She went on to Temple University Dental Hygiene program and worked as a hygienist in Philadelphia from 1945 until her retirement in 1991.
Kathleen's life was centered around her faith and her family. A lifelong parishioner at St. John, she attended daily Mass whenever she was able. She was devoted to her family as a loving daughter, sister, niece and aunt. One of her favorite activities was the family's annual "Cookie Day." Every year since 1938, four generations have gathered on the first Saturday in December to bake Christmas cookies at her home, baking at least 6,000 tasty treats. Her career was also important to her. As a hygienist, she treated generations of the same families and became friends with many of her patients.
Kathleen's passions were people and places. She loved traveling and made numerous trips to wonderful locations all around the world, making new friends everywhere she went. Her home was filled with mementos of her travels and many family gatherings were spent viewing the thousands of slides and photos she took over the years. Ocean City, NJ, was one of her favorite places. From the beautiful, young redhead who danced with the soldiers at the boardwalk dances during WWII to the white haired great aunt watching the youngest generation take their first dip in the ocean, her heart was never far from the shore.
Kathleen's life was full and very happy. She believed life was precious and went out fighting for hers right up until the last moment. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
