On July 27, 2007, of Voorhees, NJ. Age 78 years.

Beloved husband of 54 years to Grace V. Luongo (Nee-Micciche). Dear father of Rosanne (Dennis) O'Mahony, Lauren (David) Goetz and Lawrence J. (Amy) Luongo, Jr., Esq. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Lawrence III, Michael, Gabrielle and Teddy and two brothers, Richard and Gerald.

Born on August 2, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Luongo was a 1946 graduate of Collingswood High School where he excelled as an outstanding two-way back on a championship football team, also lettering in basketball and track. Larry served in the Navy during WWII before attending Muhlenberg College where he played two years of football, later transferring to Rutgers Univ., Camden, graduating in 1952.

After graduating from Rutgers, he taught history and coached basketball and football at Sacred Heart H.S., Vineland, Woodrow Wilson H.S., Camden, Haddon Heights and his alma mater, Collingswood. Luongo's success as a high school football coach caught the eye of Lou Saban, long time NFL coach, who later hired him as a scout for the Denver Broncos.

Larry was a golf enthusiast his entire life. He won numerous championships, including club crowns at Wildwood C.C. and Medford Village C.C. He was also a member of Tavistock C.C. and Riviera C.C. in Pacific Palisades, CA. Finally, after retirement, he became a certified NJSIAA official for baseball, softball and volleyball.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Wednesday Evening 7:00-9:00 PM at the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle, 120 United States Ave., Gibbsboro, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10:00 AM at the church. Entombment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ.
