Obituary

Age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 surrounded by family. He was a longtime resident of Barrington, NJ since 1953.

Son of the late John and Anna Keenan. He was the beloved husband of 70 years to his dearest wife, the late Jane Keenan. Brother of the late Edith (Herb) Coverly, the late Nan (Tink) Daggan, the late Baby John and brother-in-law of Robert P. Bleming. Father of Kandy Lippincott (the late Gregory), Joel Keenan (Susan), Kim Richards (Gene), and Penny Parker. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Heather Fowler (Tom), Tracy Breen (Benjamin), Kristen Hale (Matthew), David Keenan (Candace), Max Keenan (Rachel), David Richards (April), Jeffrey Richards (Georgia), Jillian Richards (Dillon), and Paul Richards; and eleven great grandchildren: Jack and Henry Fowler, Emma and Ethan Hale, Leighton and Colette Keenan, Victoria and Jared Richards, Kevin Richards and Frankie Sakowski, and Parker McKeon, as well as countless other family members and friends.

Leonard was born on September 9, 1927 in Westmont, NJ. Len served as a Navy Corpsman during World War II. He was a secretary for Barrington Board of Health for many years and was a life member of the Barrington Ambulance Association. Len was also a member of the American Legion Post 84 of Oaklyn NJ, member of Barrington Young at Heart Club and Historical Association, and longtime member of Ascension Lutheran Church from 1954 until its closing. Len worked as an electrotyper for 28 years until that type of printing became obsolete. He worked in Haddonfield High School and retired from his dream job at the Borough of Haddonfield Public Works in 1996.

While Len's accomplishments are vast, his greatest accomplishment was being a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved opening his home to friends and family alike, enjoyed traveling the world with Jane by his side, watching the Philadelphia Eagles, and enjoyed the beach with a cold beverage. Len's sharp wit and love of life and family will be cherished by those lucky enough to have known him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday 10 AM to 12 Noon at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave. Collingswood, NJ. Memorial service will follow at 12 Noon. Interment private.
