It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda Day Sauerwein, a beloved mother, sister, friend, and community member, who left us on August 25. She was a woman of grace, warmth, and boundless energy, touching the lives of many through her passions, selfless acts of service, and lifelong love of learning.
Linda lived most of her life in Collingswood, NJ and was a proud member of Collingswood High School's 59er's club. She was a nurse and held various careers in the health care industry throughout her life. She was a lifelong learner, who never stopped seeking knowledge. Whether through reading, attending classes, or engaging in thoughtful discussions, she believed in the power of education to enrich her life and the lives of those around her.
A devout Lutheran, Linda lived her faith through both her words and actions. She was a dedicated member of St. Paul's congregation for countless years. She was an avid hiker, finding peace and inspiration in the beauty of nature. She led countless trips through the Outdoor Club of South Jersey and hiked throughout the Appalachian Trail. Linda was also a passionate traveler, exploring the wonders of the world with a sense of adventure and a curiosity. Her travels took her across the globe, including unforgettable journeys through Africa and Europe. Linda was known for her incredible baking skills, filling her home with the comforting scents of freshly baked bread and cookies, which she generously shared with friends and neighbors. Her apple pie even won first place at the Collingswood Farmer's Market.
Her kindness extended beyond her family and friends, as she devoted countless hours volunteering at various institutions including Lady of Lourdes and Cooper Hospital. Her compassionate spirit and dedication to helping others made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.
Linda will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her.
