Marcella L. (née Griffin) Chambers passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on October 17, 2024, having lived her life to the fullest. Born in Philadelphia, Marcella was one of twelve children. She lived in the Collingswood area for the past 75 years and was often seen walking along Haddon Avenue visiting the numerous businesses sharing her smile and her love of life. She was an active member of St. Teresa of Calcutta parish where she sang in the choir, volunteered to visit the sick and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her unwavering devotion to her Catholic faith prompted her to walk, at the age of 88, from Collingswood to Philadelphia just to get a glimpse of the Pope. She called it her "pilgrimage" leaving a note for her children so they wouldn't worry, it simply read "I went to see the Pope."

Marcella was married to the late Clement J. Chambers for 59 years and happily welcomed nine children into their family. She was the loving mother of Eileen (Sam) Rosetti, Gerard "Jerry" (Tracey Mitchell), the late Joseph (Joanne), Michael (Sue), Kevin (Debbie), Gary (Debbie), Rosemarie, the late John and Patricia "Trish" (Chris) O'Donnell. She was the very proud grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of 28. Marcella is also survived by her sister, Sister Rosemarie Griffin and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her viewing Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 9 AM to 12 Noon at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. John Church, 809 Park Ave. Collingswood, NJ. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be private at a later date. A celebration of her life will follow the Mass.
