Obituary
On July 2, 2009, of Sunrise Assisted Living, Deptford, NJ. Formerly of Barrington, NJ and Oneida, PA. Age 97 years.
A registered nurse, she retired as administrator at Lawndale Community Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. She was a 1932 graduate of
St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia. She was a charter member of the American Academy of Medical Administrators when it was incorporated in 1957. She was named Fellow of the organization in 1972.
She spent the last four years at Sunrise where she enjoyed playing bingo with her great nephew, Tyler Barna, taking trips with friends and watching the Phillies.
Dear sister of Pauline (Norman) Edmund, Dorothy Barna and the late, Anne Honochick, Elizabeth Broyles, Madeline Murnin and John J. Barna. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Arlene Barna and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, July 11 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM in the Church of St. Francis de Sales, 199 Wilmont Ave., Barrington, NJ. Interment Monday, July 13, 11 AM at Calvary Cemetery, Drums, PA.
The family requests memorial contributions in her name to Care Alternatives Hospice, 70 Jackson Dr., Cranford, NJ 07016.
