(nee Carter) Peacefully on December 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Collingswood, NJ.  Age 61 years.

Beloved wife of 37 years to Joseph B. Shaw, Sr.  Dear mother of Maggie (Dan) Zmijewski, Emily (Mike) Gould, Erin (Kevin) Jacoby and Joseph B. (Rebecca) Shaw, Jr. and her beloved fur companion, Cassie.  Loving Ma of Felicity, Myla, Grady, Lochlan, Gavin, Cecilia Rose and future baby Jacoby.  Devoted daughter of Margaret K. and the late William R. Carter, Sr.  Cherished sister of Margaret (the late Mark) Lacovara, Marianne (John) Warne, Jr., William R. (Claire) Carter, Jr., John (Donna) Carter and Edward Carter.  She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Martha was a lifelong resident of Collingswood, who married the love of her life Joe after meeting in Sea Isle City when they were 16 years old. Martha loved raising her family in her home town.  Martha has always been a part of the Collingswood community, between the kids PTA, the Democrat Club and most recently working at the Collingswood Housing Authority.  Martha and Joe raised four beautiful children who are all still living close to their hometown and are so grateful to have so many fond memories of their mom.

Martha enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by her family and found her life's favorite title as a "Ma" to her 6 fabulous (and one on the way) grandchildren.

Martha's favorite activities included a hot cup of coffee, a good book, sitting in her garden, having her toes in the sand and chatting to anyone and everyone about anything.  She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday evening, January 5, 2022, 6 to 9 PM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ.  Prayer Service and interment will be private for the family.  Masks are required.
