Obituary
Mary E. Root (nee Kirkpatrick) passed away peacefully at home in Cherry Hill, NJ on May 2, 2013.
She is survived by her two children: Kenneth A. Root and Debra A. Root, both of Cherry Hill, NJ. Also survived by her grandchildren: Ian Hansen of Cherry Hill, NJ and Keith Meskill of Kingwood, TX. Preceded in death by her husband, Alan C. Root in 1987.
A graduate of Audubon High School, class of 1940, she began a career as a vocalist in several well-known local bands during the Big Band era. She also had her own show on local radio. Later in life, she enjoyed a career as a real estate settlement processor for Cooper Abstract and Davis, Reberkenny & Abramowitz, both in Cherry Hill. She had a lifelong passion for dancing, boating and gardening.
A memorial service will be held privately.
