Theodore Matthew Robb, age 45, went to be with Jesus on September 24, 2018. Matt was born April 26, 1973 to Jean and Ted Robb. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Cathie Hicks and nieces Anna, Elizabeth and Gemma Hicks. He dearly loved his family and they loved him just as much. Matt was born with Morquio's syndrome which physically ravaged his body but not his spirit. His death leaves a large hole in his small family. They miss him tremedously.
Matt graduated from Haddon Township High School in 1991 and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1997, majoring in speech communications with a minor in theater. He played intercollegiate wheelchair football, twice being selected MVP.
Matt worked in admissions and enrollment management at Philadelphia Biblical University in Langhorne, PA for ten years where he made many wonderful friendships.
Matt was smart with a quick and quirky sense of humor. He cared about people. There was no more rabid and well-informed Phillies or Eagles fan than Matt. He loved going to Phillies games until his health prevented it.
Faith was the cornerstone of Matt's life. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Collingswood. He loved attending Handi*Camp which helped him grow in faith. He developed lasting friendships with campers and staff. Although his health deteriorated he remained cheerful and fun to know despite severe challenges. Matt looked forward to eternal life with Jesus and the new body he would have. Freed from the limitations of his earthly body, he is free at last.
His family is grateful to the various doctors who cared for Matt throughout his life. He was able to remain at home with his parents with the assistance of a cadre of nurses. His family is grateful to all the individuals who cared for him throughout his life.
Burial is private. Friends may visit the family in the church parlor at First United Methodist Church, 201 Dayton Ave., Collingswood, NJ on Sunday, September 30, starting at 1:30 PM. Matt's life will be celebrated at a memorial service beginning at 3 PM in the church sanctuary.
Gifts in Matt's memory for the construction of the permanent Handi*Camp facility Matt was so eagerly anticipating may be sent to Handi*Vangelism Ministries International, PO Box 122, Akron, PA 17501-0122.
