On June 20, 2017, of Cherry Hill, NJ.  Age 85 years.  Beloved husband of 51 years to Jeannie Thompson (nee Weathered).  Dear father of Jeffrey, Christopher and Nicole (Richard) Charles.  Loving grandfather of Alexis, Olivia and Cody.

Neil was a graduate of Olney High School, Philadelphia, PA, a 1956 graduate of West Chester State Teacher's College and earned his Master's in Education from Temple University in 1965.  He was also a U.S. Army veteran.  Neil had a 36 year teaching career at Collingswood High School, where he also coached boys basketball and baseball for many years.  His teams won many conference, group and state titles.  "Coach" was a 1997 member of the Collingswood High School Athletic Hall of Fame and was inducted into the South Jersey Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame and the New Jersey Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.  He will also be remembered as an avid golfer and animal lover.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday evening 6 to 9 PM and Saturday 10 to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ.  Funeral service will follow at 11 AM.  Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Collingswood High School Athletic Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 512, Collingswood, NJ 08108 for a scholarship in Coach Thompson's name.
