IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert E.
Mehmet, Sr.
January 21, 1935 – June 27, 2024
Robert E. "Bob" Mehmet, Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024. Born on January 21, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA, to Achmet Mehmet and Gillie Tittle, Bob was a longtime resident of Collingswood, NJ, and more recently of Haddonfield, NJ.
He was the dedicated and loving husband of the late Edna H. Mehmet (née Wicker), sharing 68 blissful years of marriage. Their profound love and companionship inspired all who were fortunate enough to witness it.
Bob was a devoted father to Robert E. Mehmet Jr. (wife, Bernadette), and to his daughter, Joyce Johnson, née Mehmet (husband, Doug). He was a proud grandfather of seven: Jeremy Johnson (wife, Cara), Robert Mehmet III (wife, Dominique), Lisa Wilkens, née Mehmet (husband, Thomas), Keith Johnson, Daniel Mehmet (wife, Jill), Brian Mehmet (wife, Gina), and Philip Mehmet. His love extended to his 15 great-grandchildren: Connor, Collin, Robert IV, Kelsey, Camryn, Isaac, Hannah, Gabriel, Aidan, Tyler, Sofia, Owen, Chad, Noah, and Mikayla.
He had a strong conviction of faith, and his family and friends describe him as a man of his word. Bob was always there to lend an ear to anyone. He was a kind, forgiving, approving, and especially encouraging to all he knew. Visiting his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were moments he cherished. He loved to visit the elderly from the church, making sure they were looked after each week.
Bob, Dad, Pop, Pop-pop loved working and making wood figurines during the year for family and friends. He spent hours in his workshop, changing up the figures from season to season, and loved giving them out to anyone he crossed paths with.
Join us to celebrate Bob's life on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, 124 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
