IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald M.
Bernardin, Jr.
February 13, 1954 – August 4, 2024
Ron passed away suddenly on August 4, 2024; of Philadelphia, PA and formerly of Collingswood, NJ. Age 70 years.
Beloved father of Ronald M. (Melissa) Bernardin, III, M.D. and Michael A. (Stacy) Bernardin. Loving grandfather of Madison, Mia and Quinn. Son of the late Ronald M. and Catherine M. Bernardin. Devoted brother of Maureen Siefring, the Honorable Daniel A. (the late Myra) Bernardin, Janice B. (David) Holmes and Denise (Scott) Irrgang. Cherished nephew of Margie Engelbert and the late Elizabeth Hughes. Ron is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron traveled multiple routes along life's journey, all of which made him an extraordinary man of the world with varied and interesting experiences and stories that he was so wonderful at telling. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's Preparatory School and Boston College. Ron was a retired special education teacher in The School District of Philadelphia, a beloved basketball referee for 20 years and a volunteer referee for the Special Olympics and the Collingswood youth basketball league.
However, what Ron is best known for is his unparalleled enthusiasm and joy for living life. He was passionate about spending time with his sons, granddaughters and extended family and loved nothing more than holidays and other large family gatherings. Ron was the original Philadelphia sports fan and athlete in his day. He had a fantastic singing voice and was a true lover of music with an appreciation for every genre. Music is something he shared with many of his family members and traveled near and far to see some of the world's greatest musicians and the best local acts. Ron's vivacious spirit was ever present and will be so greatly missed by all who know and love him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, August 12, 9:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 901 Hopkins Rd., Haddon Twp., NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
