IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley T.
Phillips
May 15, 1932 – July 15, 2025
(nee Turner) On July 15, 2025 Shirley Lou Phillips at age 93 passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Beloved wife of the late Jack Phillips. Dear mother of Sherry P. (Leo) Kane and Tracy P (Norman) Mulqueen both of Audubon, NJ. She is survived by her 2 grandchildren, Jessica (Lee) Polonsky and Joshua Kane. Also, by the light of her life, her great granddaughter Arielle Jacklyn Polonsky. Shirley, known to everyone as "Grandmother", was loved and adored by so many because she always treated them as if they were family. She was very loving and caring and always put others' needs before her own.
Shirley attended business school and went to work at Curtis Publishing Company in Philadelphia. It was actually during her commute that she met Jack Phillips who became her husband of 52 years. Since Shirley was an only child, she loved visiting Jack's large family in North Carolina. Together they moved to her favorite street in Audubon. She was a proud active resident and loved her neighbors and her cozy street. However, some of her best memories with her family were made at her shore house in Cape May Court House. She loved spending time at the beach where she was known for making the best drippy sand castles! One of her most memorable vacations was at the age of 83, Shirley got to take the trip of a lifetime to Ireland.
Shirley will be remembered for her delicious cooking, her signature dishes will be missed at every holiday gathering. She will always be known for cooking her family their favorite dishes. Even at the age of 92 her love of cooking never waivered. Shirley was an avid reader. You could find her leaving the library with a large pile of mystery books! Mom-mom Shirley and Arielle would spend countless hours reading together. She also enjoyed watching British mystery TV shows.
But if asked, she would tell you that her greatest joy in life has been spending the last 11 years with her great granddaughter, Arielle.
The loss of Shirley Phillips leaves an unimaginable hole in all our hearts. You will be forever missed! Love you more Grandmother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
