On March 28, 2008 at his home at Wiley Christian Retirement Community, Marlton, NJ, formerly of Pennsauken, NJ. Age 89 years.
Beloved husband of 57 years to Jane Loney (nee-Melick). Loving father of Jeffrey (Mary C.) Loney of Bergen, NY, Roger (Helen) Loney of Dublin, GA and Joanne (John C.) Fossett of Stroudsburg, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Timothy and Peter Loney, Theodore "Ted" and Kate Loney, Audrey and Darren Fossett and a niece, Jean Robb and her family.
Born in Georgia, Ted grew up in Glassboro, NJ and was a member of Glassboro High School Class of 1936. He graduated from Wharton Evening School in 1947. Ted served over 7 years in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict where he attained the rank of Captain in the Army Counter Intelligence Corps.
Ted worked 35 years for NJ Bell Telephone and retired in 1982. He and Jane spent the next ten years visiting all 50 states and enjoyed the activities of their grandchildren.
Ted and Jane were members of First United Methodist Church of Collingswood for 53 years, where they both were active in various rolls of leadership. Their love for children led them to aid in the formation of God's Special Children's Class (GSC), a class for physically and mentally challenged children. They became members of Browns Mills United Methodist Church in Feb. 2008 and have enjoyed the spiritual warmth and fellowship there.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial service Saturday 2 PM at the Wiley Church, 99 E. Main St., Marlton, NJ.
