Tom passed away on August 6, 2022, of Haddonfield, NJ; formerly of Philadelphia, PA.  Age 71 years.

Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Nocella).  Devoted father of Thomas F. "Fran" and father-in-law to Lisa.  Doting grandfather of Sara Elizabeth and Hannah Grace.  Loving son-in-law to Grace Nocella.  Tom was predeceased by his parents, Thomas F. and Pearl McLaughlin and his father-in-law, Anthony Nocella.

Tom was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and lived there until 1999 when the family moved to Haddonfield, NJ.  He was a graduate of St. Veronica's Parish School and a 1969 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School.  He received a full scholarship to LaSalle University and graduated in 1973 with a degree in biology.  Tom went on to Jefferson Medical College and graduated in 1977.  He then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Episcopal Hospital, the hospital where he was born, and then joined a practice in Pottsville, PA.  He had a great respect for the hard working people of Schuykill County.  He enjoyed his work at Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville Hospital and the Warne Clinic.  He served as Chief Medical Officer for a portion of that time.

Tom was a lover of all things Beach Boys and the Beatles.  One of his favorite activities was listening to Joe and Dot Sweet with the Saturday Night Crew as they live streamed their music from Hazleton.  He introduce his granddaughter to their music and they sang along.

Tom was devoted to his family.  He was the epitome of the doting grandfather to Sara and Hannah.  Tom and Barbara were married for 49 years, having met when they were 14 and marrying in 1973.  He was very fond of his nieces and nephews, Bud and Elana Lope, Tony and Krista Lope, Nick and Deanna Lope, Matt and Jess Nocella, Jim Nocella, and Jason and Laura Snyder and their families.  He grew up with his brothers-in-law, Joe Nocella (Cecilia) and Charlie Lope (Ginny).  He will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday 10 to 11 AM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 820 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ.  Prayer service will follow at 11 AM.  Interment private.
